Mind Power How to Use it To Change Your Life
Mind power is created from within the amazing and mystical mass of tissue that resides between your ears; a mass of tissue that is so complex that to date, it is still not fully understood by science. The mass of tissue that I refer to is of course the human brain. The possession of a brain is something that unites us all as a species - everyone has one (although at times, you do have to wonder!) Imagine if you will your brain to be like a house and the mind and its power is what lives there. Your mind is the most powerful possession you have, for it controls every aspect of your being, consciously and unconsciously. Mind power is the focused intention which drives you to make thousands of choices every day and is the place from which ALL ACTION STEMS! Your memories, thoughts, attitudes, perceptions and beliefs all arise from your mind; in addition it controls your learning, emotions, decision making and creativity. Each of these aspects of the mind shape the way in which you perceive the world and how you respond to and within it. It is your own personal room with a view that no one else shares. Notice a common theme in my word choice here - the word WITHIN. If you choose to bend your finger it comes from within your mind. If you meet someone that others rave about, but you take dislike to, your perception of that person is formulated within your mind. If you choose that you want to loose 10lbs it comes from within your mind. If you feel you have no confidence, or can't achieve a goal that others have, again, it comes from within YOUR mind.
You see, everything that happens to you, every experience you have is shaped by how you perceive, hold and respond to it - which comes from within your mind.
Don't Neglect YOUR Mind Power!
Remember that for optimal health and wellbeing, you require a careful balance and nurturing of mind, body and soul.Unfortunately for many people, the health of the mind and more over, fostering of true mind power and brain fitness, is often over looked and ignored. The result of such ignorance can cause problems without you even realising it! You see, mind power is not all sweetness and light; mind power can have an incredibly troublesome side if left unattended...... Your mind has a tendency to hold onto ideas and attitudes that may not hold up as true in reality, for your mind can become warped by misinterpretations and misunderstandings. It likes to hold onto all of those negative experiences you may have encountered, experiences which are filed away and then drawn from the next time your mind perceives what it thinks is another similar situation. If your mind power is not cared for and kept check of, in the same way as you would your body, lifetimes of emotional turmoil, frustration and general unhappiness can and do ensue. When these patterns and behaviours are encountered for any length of time our physical health can become affected. It is a well known fact that stress is one of the biggest killers in the world, and to think, that all of this self destruction can arise from mind power that is left unattended and unguided. It’s really quite astonishing!
Your Biggest Hurdle.....
It is often said that the biggest hurdle to our own progression and development – is OURSELVES, something which I have experienced and agree with wholeheartedly.But it's not all doom and gloom - Oh No. There are things that can be done in the form of braining training; simple exercises designed to get you where you want to go, identify negative thought patterns and introduce an air of positivity into your life that you may not have experienced before. How do I know that this works? Well, for many of my younger years I too lead a life in which I felt I always fell short. I was frustrated and my self esteem was rock bottom as I struggled to find happiness. That was until I learned to take a step back from myself and pay attention to my own mind power, and the things it was capable of, which allowed me to identify where it had been holding me back. I implemented various techniques which I will outline in future articles. These techniques enabled me to direct my focus away from negative thought processes, fostering only the positive which in turn brought happiness, joy and fulfilment. Sounds cheesy? Yeah sure, that's exactly what I thought - but let me tell you, I'm glad I tried it, as it has quite literally changed my life. My intentions in this section of my web site are to show you how you can harness and foster your own mind power. To show you that you are the captain of your own ship and in control of your destiny! Over the next few weeks you will find forthcoming articles discussing far reaching techniques such as visualisation, affirmations, thought identification and meditation.
